Today another day at sea. Carol is still under the weather (sneasing and coughing) I managed to get the laptop working today, what makes writing a little easier. Worked most of the day catching up on my daily blogs. Managed getting a run in on the treat mill it made me sweating buckets. Managed to get Carol to come for supper with me, she starting to come around. By the time we get to the Panama Canal she should be OK.

George Town Cayman Islands (28 deg)

We are ready to get off the ship today for a visit to the Cayman Islands. It is a very nice and warm day today. The trip to shore with a small tender boat was quick. We wandered through the town and checked out the shops. we made arrangements to meet up with one of our old running friends ” MJ” She moved to the Caymans about 5 years ago.

MJ met us around 1 PM and took us to the other end of the Island and we had a great seafood lunch complimented with an ice cold local beer on a patio by the Ocean. After lunch she showed us the well known 7 mile beach and dropped us back of at the cruise terminal. soon after that we tendered back to the ship.

That night Carol started to develop a cold, and she had a little to much Sun. She went to bed early and didn’t feel like dinner. After lisening to some music I called’r the day. Cheers!

Good Goday. It’s a seaday today. It has been frustrated to get the internet to work on my chromebook. It’s a little akward to write everything from my phone. Checked out what’s going on on board today. Carol got in on a free session of stretching in the gym and myself, I managed to get a 5k run in on the treatmill, so all and all it was a good day. It was also our first dress up night for dinner. After dinner we got to a Motown show in the theatre, well done by a band from the UK.

I have to say the HAL ship the Volendam we are on, is a smaller and older ship in the HAL fleet. Some areas of the ship are upgraded last fall. One thing I like is the varriety of different music venues is nice. From duelling pianos to classical music performances and life bands, it’s great. It’s close to 11PM now and time to go to our room for our first shore day tommorow. Cheers.
